editingThere’s nothing more embarrassing than hitting the send or publish button on an awesome email or book only to notice an error afterwards. Editing and proofreading keep that from happening.

Most people have at least a basic grasp of language, and a quick read-through is often enough to catch small errors on an email. But as the author of a longer work, it’s easy to read the words of a manuscript as what we meant to say rather than reading what is actually there. We all do it, and, without our awareness, our MCs come ‘form’ the kitchen instead of ‘from’ it, and our supporting characters ‘don’t have no more money’ instead of ‘don’t have any more money’.

And how do we find out about this? When our reviews are less than stellar because our readers noticed something we missed.

That’s why it’s always a good idea to have another set of eyes check your manuscript.

I’m not only an avid reader and writer. I also have a B.A. degree in English, and I spent almost a decade teaching language arts and literature. In addition to that, I’ve edited and proofread various works for almost twenty-five years, and I’ve assisted with academic research and writing. Check below for my list of services and rates, then use the contact form to connect. I’d love to hear from you, and I want nothing more than to help make your writing the best it can be.

 Best wishes!
